London, UK (Scicasts) - We are excited to announce that Scicasts has joined the Rackspace Startup Program and have fully migrated our systems to Rackspace's cloud technology.
This migration, as well as the support received from Rackspace's technical team, played a critical role in building our fast-growing data technology – NEBULi™, following our announcement this summer.
"We believed Rackspace would be the ultimate partner because of the company's outstanding expertise in cloud computing and their brilliant technical support," said Tim El-Sheikh, CEO and founder of Scicasts. "We have big ambitions for 2014 and beyond. Therefore, it is imperative that our underlying cloud-based systems can cope with our growth and our expanding big data demands. Rackspace have helped us leapfrog ahead of our development schedules."
Earlier this year, we launched our latest version of Scicasts (we called it V3), which we built on a responsive, HTML5 platform to ensure full accessibility of our content and services on mobile devices (particularly on tablets). Our next step was to enhance our cloud architecture for our NEBULi™ data grids. The original plan was to release Scicasts v4 in mid 2014. Thanks to our migration to Rackspace, we launched Scicasts v4 in November 2013 – seven months ahead of schedule!
Scicasts was noticed by Rackspace through the unique scoring system provided by Dreamstake – a London based Digital Accelerator, with the objective to identify and support web-based high growth potential startups. Paul Dowling, CEO at Dreamstake, facilitated this relationship between Scicasts and Rackspace, which was completed in August 2013.
"We are really grateful for this amazing opportunity, which arrived at the time when we were also invited to join TechHub London (part of Google Campus London) earlier this summer. We are right at the heart of the most dynamic tech seen in the world, at the Silicon Roundabout," added Tim El-Sheikh. "2014 will be an amazing year for Scicasts and we are looking forward to expanding our network even further, working with such leading companies as Rackspace who are based within this vibrant tech community."
