Acacia Research Corporation has unveiled that its CombiMatrix group has extended its product line to include the CustomArray 4X2K containing four independent 2000-feature microarrays on a single CustomArray.

According to the announcement, the 4X2K offers complete array customisation, user control of probe design, and the ability to modify microarray design at any time. Moreover, it delivers high sensitivity, throughput, and ease of use for gene discovery, pathway research, and molecular characterisation of disease. The 4X2K is priced starting at $99 per 2000-feature microarray and will be marketed to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostic, academic, and government sectors.

"The DNA-array market has various segments," said Michael Tognotti, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of CombiMatrix. "One is a segment where customers desire low-cost arrays and do not need a large number of features per array. The 4X2K, with four 2000-feature microarrays per semiconductor chip, is ideally suited to that segment."
